R is a free, open source software program for statistical analysis.
R is a system for statistical computation and graphics. It provides, among other things, a programming language, high level graphics, interfaces to other languages and debugging facilities [R Core Team 2020].
RStudio is an IDE (integrated development environment) for R, a programming language for graphics and statistical computing. It is available in two formats: RStudio Desktop while RStudio Server runs on a remote server and allows accessing RStudio using a web browser.
The RStudio IDE is available with the GNU Affero General Public License version 3. The AGPL v3 is an open source license that guarantees the freedom to share the code.
RStudio Desktop and RStudio Server are both available in free and fee-based (commercial) editions. OS support depends on the format/edition of the IDE. Prepackaged distributions of RStudio Desktop are available for macOS, Linux and Windows. RStudio Server and Server Pro run on Debian, Ubuntu, Red Hat Linux, CentOS, openSUSE and SLES.[wikipedia]
RStudio is cross-platform, so you can download it and run it as well on Windows, Mac OS X or Linux:
